Paper Place Bullet Journal Set Review

I do love a good bargain when it comes to bullet journaling! Some of you UK journal nerds may recently have seen the Paper Place Bullet Journal Kit in The Works priced (at the time of writing this) at just £6.00! So, I thought I would purchase one and investigate what the kit includes and the overall quality. Get ready to be pleasantly surprised!

The kit is beautifully packaged in this A5-ish sized box and gives an accurate display of everything included. This involves a pretty hardback journal in white and gold, plenty of stencil sheets, sticker sheets and three pens... plus a highlighter and a ruler. You also get 2 rolls of washi tape in 2 designs to match the journal.

THINGS I LOVED ABOUT THE PAPER PLACE BULLET JOURNAL SET

The quality of the journal is impressive for such a low price. It's a sturdy hardback in a really pretty white and gold foil design, with rounded edges and a ribbon page marker. The pages are dotted and white, so use of a white corrective pen or tape will blend much better than they would on an ivory background. Also,

You get 6 sticker sheets included—3 of each design—and 3 stencil sheets which include most of the basic shapes you will probably want to use. There are weather symbols, smiley faces, borders, boxes, stars, banners, letters and numbers.

When you open the journal, there's a pink/blue/purple watercolour effect paper (with gold foil dots), which makes the feel really feminine. The paper is also a surprising 100gsm and there are 96 pages.

I liked the quote on the ruler: 'Dream, Believe, Achieve' and appreciated the variety of red, black and blue fine liners, plus the pink highlighter and 2 rolls of nicely designed washi tape (which match the journal's cover and interior). Overall, it's a very girly kit and pretty much covers the bases for anyone interested in starting bullet journaling, or is perhaps looking for a cost-effective way to get a new bundle.

WHAT I DIDN'T LIKE ABOUT THE PAPER PLACE BULLET JOURNAL SET

At first glance, the only thing I disliked was the quality of the stencils. They are cut in a rather thin cardboard, so will need to be held firmly down before use so you get the shape you want. Also, you will need to handle them carefully as not to rip any of them - see image above. But, you do get a lot of shapes and as a starter/practise set, they're not bad.

MY OVERALL THOUGHTS ON THE PAPER PLACE BULLET JOURNAL SET

Wow! For such a low price, I'm really impressed with this kit and would definitely recommend giving it a try if you're new to bullet journaling and don't want to spend a lot to try it out. It could make a nice gift for a teenager or a stationary/notebook addict, too, plus any busy female creative-type!

I am not affiliated with The Works - this was a lucky find due to curiosity on my part. This review is also at a first glance, meaning I have not yet used any of the items in this kit (I'll be saving them until my current bujo is full and I'm ready for a new one... can you blame me?). I have purchased lots of stationary from The Works before, though.
